Floating Bridge Dubai Closing Time

Dubai's Floating Bridge Closed for Maintenance

Extended Closure for Major Maintenance

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the city's iconic Floating Bridge will be closed for a period of five weeks beginning Monday, April 17th, 2023, for major maintenance work. The bridge, which connects the historic districts of Deira and Bur Dubai, will be closed in both directions.

Traffic Rerouting Plan

To minimize traffic disruptions during the closure, the RTA has developed an integrated plan to reroute traffic to alternative roads and crossings. Motorists are advised to follow the designated signage and use alternative routes, including Al. This plan is designed to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the maintenance period.

Extended Closure for Technical Tests

In a subsequent announcement, the RTA stated that the Floating Bridge will remain closed for an extended period beyond the initial five-week closure. This extension is necessary to conduct comprehensive technical tests and ensure the bridge's safety and functionality before it can be reopened to traffic.

Alternative Crossing Options

During the closure, commuters are encouraged to utilize alternative crossing options, such as the Water Taxi, Dubai Ferry, and the Al Maktoum Bridge. These services provide convenient and efficient connections between Deira and Bur Dubai.

Stay Informed

Updates on the Floating Bridge's closure and reopening will be communicated regularly by the RTA. Motorists are urged to check the RTA's official website and social media channels for the latest information and to plan their travel accordingly.
