The centre-back has been in impressive form for United's U18s this season, starting every game in their run to the FA Youth Cup final.
Mainoo's performances have also earned him a call-up to the England U19s squad, and he will now link up with the U18s for their upcoming friendlies against Croatia and the Netherlands.
The 18-year-old is a product of United's academy system and has been with the club since he was six years old.
He has been a regular for the U18s this season and has also made his debut for the U23s.
Mainoo's call-up to the England U18s is a testament to his progress at United and he will be hoping to continue his development with the Young Lions.
