Overview
The Government of Canada's official website for eTA applications allows visa-exempt foreign nationals to apply for electronic travel authorization. An eTA is a mandatory entry requirement for visa-exempt individuals traveling to Canada by air.
Applying for an eTA
To apply for an eTA, you will need to submit a valid passport, a valid email address, and a credit or debit card. The application process is quick and easy, taking approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Eligibility
Citizens of certain visa-required countries are eligible to apply for an eTA instead of a visitor visa. You can check your eligibility on the Government of Canada's website.
Benefits of an eTA
An eTA grants you entry to Canada for up to six months at a time. It allows you to travel within Canada and to leave and re-enter the country during the validity period.
