From Brazil to India: Embraer's C-390 aims for MTA success

Embraer's C-390 Millennium is a medium-lift, twin-engine, multi-role military transport aircraft developed by the Brazilian aerospace company Embraer. It is designed to replace the C-130 Hercules and complement the KC-390.

The C-390 has a range of 2,800 nautical miles (5,200 km) and can carry up to 23 tons of cargo. It can also be configured to perform a variety of missions, including troop transport, paratrooping, medical evacuation, and cargo delivery.

The C-390 is powered by two International Aero Engines V2500-E5 turbofan engines. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 81 tons and a cruising speed of 470 knots (870 km/h). The Indian Air Force (IAF) is currently in the process of evaluating the C-390 to replace its aging fleet of C-130J Super Hercules aircraft. The IAF is reportedly impressed with the C-390's capabilities and is considering acquiring a number of aircraft.

If the IAF does acquire the C-390, it would be a major boost for Embraer. The IAF is one of the largest air forces in the world, and its decision to purchase the C-390 would be a strong endorsement of the aircraft.
