Knicks Reunite With Marcus Morris Sr On Exhibit 9 Deal To Compete For Final Roster Spot

Knicks Reunite with Marcus Morris Sr. on Exhibit 10 Deal

Morris Returns to New York on Non-Guaranteed Contract

The New York Knicks have reunited with forward Marcus Morris Sr., signing him to an Exhibit 10 deal, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The deal is non-guaranteed, meaning Morris will have to compete for a spot on the final roster during training camp and the preseason.

Morris's History with the Knicks

Morris spent two seasons with the Knicks from 2019 to 2021, averaging 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. He was a key player in the Knicks' surprising playoff run in 2021, averaging 16.4 points and 6.4 rebounds in the postseason.

Morris left the Knicks in free agency in 2021, signing a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. He then spent last season with the Miami Heat, averaging 10.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

Morris's Role with the Knicks

Morris is expected to compete for a backup role behind Julius Randle at power forward. He brings a veteran presence, toughness, and shooting ability to the Knicks' bench.

Morris is a career 36.0% three-point shooter, and he can also contribute on the defensive end with his physicality and rebounding.

Knicks' Roster Outlook

The Knicks have a crowded frontcourt, with Randle, Obi Toppin, and Jericho Sims all capable of playing the power forward position. However, Morris's experience and versatility could make him a valuable addition to the team.

The Knicks are expected to make a decision on Morris's future after training camp and the preseason.
